A QUICK TRAVEL GUIDE TO RAVELLO
If you’re planning to visit the Amalfi Coast, and are wondering where to stay in Amalfi, think no more, Ravello it is. You are pretty much going to set foot in paradise, for Ravello is one of the prettiest, magical and breathtaking place I’ve been to yet. #utopia
Getting there: Once you reach the Amalfi Port, take a bus(you’ll find the ticket counters right opposite to the port as you exit), and you’re less than an hour away from paradise. My bus ride up was super fun, as we met a fellow travel blogger and got chatting whilst enjoying the beautiful view on the way to the top.
Where to stay: I cannot explain enough why I urge you all to book your stay at Villa Fraulo … Is it the gorgeous neoclassical interiors? The infinity pool overlooking the surreal Tyrrhenian waters and sky? The grand swimming pool that leads to the infinity pool? The lit up view of the coast at nightfall from the rooms? The food? The coziest bed? The lovely staff? The restaurant serving the most romantic ambience and view? Oh help me pick!
A quick tip, the hotel has 2 entrances, please do ask the staff for details before your arrival. We ended up climbing a flight of stairs ( not complaining, it was still magical, visually) with our luggage, only to later learn of the other entrance which was right opposite to the bus stop.
Trattoria Da Cumpa ‘Cosimo : The cutest family run restaurant, with their Nonna, running the place like a boss, with her traditional Italian grooming on point, oh I love her. The food is amazing! Not the best ambience but it shouldn’t matter. Don’t let the negative reviews on trip advisor scare you like it did us, turns out we should’ve just believed all the positive reviews. The billing isn’t the same for everyone from what we figured, Nonna decides how much each table pays. Overall, a different experience, I recommend.
Places to Visit/Things to do:
Duomo di Ravello.
Villa Cimbrone. Quoting my own instagram caption ” Climbed a thousand stairs to get to the Villa, not mad about it”. I recommend getting there 15 minutes before they open, so you can watch the sea kiss the sky in the infinity terrace all by yourself. Fun Fact: They filmed WonderWoman here!
Find a vintage car/scooter and take pictures. Yes, do it. ( I got both)
Spot a bride! (Many people get married here on a daily, I’m jealous)
At night, in the square, there’s almost always a play going on, you could grab some snacks and watch the show with the town all lit up behind you and the stars all shining above you. ( We watched Romeo and Juliet)
These apart, just walk and walk and explore and enjoy what the town treats you with.
Ravello treated me right and I am absolutely smitten. Can you tell?
